PHIPPSBURG — Martha E. Steen, 66, of Phippsburg, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, in Brunswick.
She was born on Dec. 6, 1946, in Portland to parents Eugene and Winnifred (Bush) Ross.
Martha liked to read, and enjoyed going to the library, and to book sales. She also enjoyed going to Hollywood Slots, watching NASCAR, boating and gardening, and always loved a good meal. She especially loved spending time with friends. She was an outgoing person, and would help anyone that was in need. Martha was a dear friend, and will be greatly missed.
She was a member of the Bath Senior Citizen’s Club, and was also a volunteer, providing handicapped clients with transportation and meals.
Martha worked at BIW as a computer operator for 27 years, retiring in 2011.
She was predeceased by her parents, and her son Richard “Dickie” Lemont.
Martha is survived by two sons, Paul and Teddy Lemont; her daughter-in-law Cindy; two sisters, Diane Pye of Bath and Nancy Ross of Phippsburg; her brother, James Ross and his wife, Cindy of Dresden; two grandchildren; her best friends Burt and Kathy Mansfield; her dog, Dakota; and many more friends.
At her request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Martha to the Albert F. Totman Public Library, 28 Parker Head Road, Phippsburg, ME 04562.
