TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat high school jayvee baseball team won the “ Battle of the Bridge,” defeating Brunswick, 21-5, recently.

James Singleton led the 15-hit attack with two doubles and a single. Conner Smith added a double and a single. Trevor Brown doubled, Holden Brennan singled twice, and Austin Berry, Trey Booty, Dan Pratt, Ian Brady, Cal Davies and RJ Minor each chipped in with a single.

For Brunswick, Jack Lowell and Tony Cilea each doubled, while Dan Madigan added a single.

Brady, Cody Holman, Singleton and Davies combined for nine strikeouts and four walks for the Eagles in the win. Tanner Rapoza and Ethan Boll walked seven, stuck out two, and hit a batter on the bump for Brunswick.

Mt. Ararat also defeated Camden Hills, 13-10, in a back-and-forth contest.

Willy Kavanaugh, Booty, Holman, and Pratt each had a pair of singles. Brady and Minor also chipped in with a single apiece.

Camden had a pair hits from Oben Miller and Aiden Schecter in the loss. Sam Moody doubled, with Rylee Rapa and Bryler Fisher each adding a single.

On the mound Singleton, Kavanaugh and Davies combined for five strikeouts and six walks for Mt. Ararat.

Logan Putanso, Jason Greenleaf and Quinn Brown struck out four and walked two for the Windjammers.

Davies made the play of the game for the Eagles, snagging a line shot back to the mound with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh to seal the victory.

Mt. Ararat is now 14- 1 on the season.
