She was born on April 26, 1920, at her Aunt Daisy Murphy’s home on Milan Street in Bath. She was one of six children born to Walter and Hazel Rollins Cushing. She had a happy life growing up in Parker Head, Phippsburg.
In 1938, she married Charles Burleigh Williams and the couple resided in Winnegance to raise their son, Poody. On July 18, 1959, she married Elmer Morse and they made their home in Bath. They had a wonderful life together, traveling extensively, camping, wintering in Florida, and square dancing. She and Elmer both loved Popham Beach and enjoyed going there whenever they could. They also owned and operated Davis Island Lobster Pound in Edgecomb for 8 years.
Lee was a longtime member of Corliss Street Baptist Church. She held many positions there, including Deacon, Trustee, Sanctuary Committee, etc. She could always be counted on to help whatever the need, always cheerfully willing to act. One of her favorite activities was chairing the annual Christmas Fair and she would spend countless hours sewing for it throughout the year.Lee was always busy with her many hobbies. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, decorating, cooking, scrapbooking, to only name a few.
She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer; sisters, Marion Nadeau and Helen Perkins; and brother, William Cushing.
She is survived by her sons, Thornton (Poody) Williams and his wife Kathy, Edward Morse and his wife Joyce; a brother, Bob Cushing and his wife Louise; sister, Dottie Beals; grandchildren, Kellie Murphy, Darren Williams, Stephen and Eric Morse, seven greatgrandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She also had many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, from 10 to 11 a.m. at David E. Desmond & Son Funeral Home, 638 High St., Bath. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
