SANFORD — Donald Owen Wing, 60, died Oct. 6, 2015, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a long illness.

He grew up in the Portland area, served three years in the U.S. Army, and attended the University of Southern Maine. Don worked in the software trade, most recently at Boise Cascade of Idaho at their Biddeford location.

Don loved being at home cooking for family and especially sitting outside on his deck on a sunny day. He also enjoyed hearing about his children’s many interests and hobbies … and his wife’s obsession with antiques.

He is survived by: his wife, Margaret of nearly 30 years; his two sons, Chris and Tim; two daughters, Jen and Amy; three brothers, Bob, Ted, and Rod; a sister, Judy; and grandchildren Madilyn, Justice, Jada, Katreana, Skyler, and Dalton. Don also had many extended family members.

A private military honors service will be held at the Southern Maine Veteran’s Cemetery in Springvale.
