AUGUSTA — Greenville held Pine Tree Academy to zero points in the second quarter en route to a 37-16 Class D South quarterfinal win in girls high school basketball action at the Augusta Civic Center Monday morning.
The third-seeded Lakers advance to face No. 2 Temple Academy in the semifinals.
The Breakers, seeded seventh, saw their season end with a 9-10 record.
Greenville jumped out to a 12-6 first-quarter lead before outscoring the Breakers 13-0 in the second for a 25-6 halftime lead.
Adrianna DePalma and Jordan Milano each had six points for Pine Tree Academy, which was 1-for-4 from the free-throw line.
Halle Pelletier paced Greenville with 13 points, followed by Morgan Noyer with 10 and Jessica Pomerleau with nine.
