BIDDEFORD — Robert Roger Sevigny, 81, a lifelong resident of Biddeford, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

Born Aug. 20, 1934, a son of Raoul D. and Theresa (Landry) Sevigny Jr., Bob was a 1952 graduate of St. Louis High School, where he was catcher on the Eagles baseball team and played trombone in the high school band.

A member of the Navy Reserves, he operated Sevigny’s Garage with his father at the corner of South and Elm streets for many years. He was also employed at Fiber Materials Inc. in Biddeford and Bar Mills Telephone Co.

An avid hunter and fisherman, he could often be found at his camp in Jackman, and as a pilot, he would often fly a private plane out of Biddeford Airport to this destination. In his later life, he and his wife would take daily rides to Pine Point. He was proud that he lived for 57 years in the only house he ever owned, located by the Saco River.

He was preceded in death by: a son, Robert Jr., in 1954; and his first wife, Lillian (Thompson), in 1982.

Bob is survived by: His loving wife of 32 years, Alice G. Sevigny of Biddeford; a sister, Monique Audet and her husband Ray of Biddeford; three daughters, Nancy Dandy and her husband Steven of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Kathy Powers and her husband Keith of South Portland, and Robyn Palardis and her husband Peter of Biddeford; a son, Ronald and his partner Sharon Peck of Jackman; three step-children, Susan Cote and her husband Andre of Waterboro, Pauline Plourde and her husband Daniel of Dayton, and Mark Dumas of Biddeford; and many grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 4, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A service will follow at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
