He was born in Biddeford on Nov. 15, 1929, a son of Wilfrid and Blandine (Beaudoin) Gagnon.
Paul “Doc” Gagnon served his country in the United Air Force, Airmen First Class Medic, during the Korean Conflict.
Paul worked under Emile Lamontagne learning the plumbing and heating trade. He was a Master Plumber and owned and operated Paul Gagnon Plumbing and Heating in Biddeford for over 60 years. He had a great work ethic, even during retirement, Paul helped out Jerry’s Plumbing and Heating and other contractors always willing to lend a hand.
Most of all, Paul enjoyed coaching others, whether it was hockey — a sport he actively played until 80 years of age, little league baseball, or even ballroom dancing. He kept his friends close by meeting them for breakfast at 6 a.m. every morning after he had already been to the gym. He also was a member of the American Legion.
He was predeceased by his parents and his two sisters Louise Campbell and Aurore Gagnon.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lorraine (Laliberte) Gagnon, two sons Christopher P. Gagnon and his wife Katie, and Jonathan P. Gagnon and his wife Jena, grandson Xavier, and nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James St., Saco.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2018, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel. A Graveside service with Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Biddeford.
