BIDDEFORD — John Paul Vigneault, 77, of Biddeford died Monday, May 7, 2018 at his home following a brief illness. 

He was born June 15, 1940 in Biddeford a son of Adelard and Eva-Rose (Duquette) Vigneault and was educated locally, graduating from St. Louis High School in the Class of 1958.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965.  On Nov. 20, 1965 he married Carmen Boutin in St. Andre’s Church.

J.P. had been employed at Saco Lowell Shops for four years and 43 years with Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, retiring in 2007.

He enjoyed reading and making crossword puzzles.

He was predeceased by a brother Gerard Vigneault and a sister Claire Vigneault.

John is survived by Carmen (Boutin) Vigneault, his wife of 52 years of Biddeford; two daughters, Lisa and Diane Vigneault, both of Biddeford; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Priscilla Bourque of Saco, Lucienne Bruckler and her husband Jack of Sanford, Terry Cote and her husband Daniel of Biddeford, and Jeanne Vigneault of Biddeford; three brothers, Andy Vigneault and his wife Rita of Old Town, Leonard Vigneault and his wife Lynn of Biddeford, and Normand Vigneault and his wife Peggy of Biddeford; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005.  A funeral service will follow at 10:30 in the Hope Chapel. Burial will be Friday at noon in Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Springvale.
