Day Camp planned at Wells Reserve

WELLS — Wells Reserve at Laudholm will host Forest to the Bog, a weeklong day camp beginning Monday Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for kids from 8 to 12 to explore the varied habitats of the reserve and what different kinds of plants and animals can be found. The group will play games, do experiments, hike trails, and see live animal ambassadors from the Center for Wildlife. Cost is $200 with scholarships available. Tidal life explained, displayed at library

KENNEBUNK — The Kennebunk Free Library will host an Intertidal Buffet: Life Between the Tides for ages 5 and up on Thursday Aug. 4 at 2 p.m.

Live marine animals and sea plants will be on display “buffet style.” Environmental stressors and adaptations that enable organisms to successfully survive a life between the tides will be discussed. Participants will then be able to handle the live creatures displayed. No pre-registration is needed. All events are free and wheelchair accessible. Wells High to destroy older student health records

WELLS — The Health Office at Wells High School is preparing to confidentially dispose of student health records for the classes of 2005 through 2008 in accordance with 255 Maine State Archives, Chapter 10. Wells High School to cull student records

WELLS —The Wells High School Guidance Department will be culling student files for the Class of 2015 beginning Oct. 1. Those who would like to obtain their file must send their request with their name and mailing address to Karen Quint by Sept. 30. Docent-led walk at Wells Reserve

WELLS — Delve into the rich history of the Wells Reserve at Laudholm, from Native American life to English settlement and from farmland to estuarine reserve Monday Aug. 1 10 a.m.

Tour planned at historic Hamilton House

WELLS — Join Wells Public Library at 10:30 a.m. on Friday July 29 for a free tour of the historic Hamilton House in South Berwick.

There will be a garden walk and participants will learn about the restoration. Following the tour, there will be a presentation to learn about the language of flowers and make a tussie-mussie, a small flower bouquet with symbolic meaning popular in the Victorian era. Participants must provide their own transportation to the Hamilton House at 40 Vaughan’s Lane, South Berwick.
