DAVENPORT, Fla. — Mrs. Arlene L (DeSilva) Cote, born on June 4, 1941 in Biddeford, Maine, to the late Helen and Manuel DeSilva, passed away at age 77, after a 46-year battle with heart disease, on Oct. 7, 2018 in the presence of her loving family in Davenport, Florida.

Arlene was a long time resident of Saco, Maine and recently moved to Florida in March of 2018. Despite Arlene’s extensive health problems, she lived her life to the fullest, every day.

Arlene enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and was a proud grandparent. She loved to socialize, dance and support her husband in his country music career.

Arlene was the beloved wife of Norman R. Cote (formerly of Biddeford). She was preceded in death by her sister, Lillian Critchley of Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

Arlene is survived by her son, Vance L. Nichols Jr. (Denise) and granddaughter Hailey Lynn Nichols of Minneola, Florida; brothers, Manuel DeSilva Jr. of Reno, Nevada, Norman DeSilva (Marissa) of Antelope, California, Frank DeSilva (Dhora) of Haleiwa, Hawaii, Harold DeSilva (Toni White) of Wilderville, Oregon, Robert DeSilva of Orange Park, Florida, and Kenneth DeSilva of Pawnee, Illinois ; sisters, Doris Dinsmore (Louis) of Brandywine, West Virginia, Rosella DeSilva (Tracy Gordon) of Merlin, Oregon, May Nieman of Citrus Heights, California, and Joan Fuller of Roseville, California; aunts, Ann Hubert (Ray) of New Port Richey, Florida and Lillian Camire of Saco, Maine; and special friend, Shirley Cote (Conrad) of Biddeford, Maine; and several nieces and nephews.

Those who wish may donate in Arlene’s name to the American Heart Association.

Friends and family members may attend the memorial service, officiated by Father Ramon Bolatete, on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Faustina Catholic Church, 1714 US Highway 27, Clermont, Florida, 34714.

A celebration of her life will be held at a date TBD in Maine.
