SACO — Frederick J. Yerxa, 74, of Saco passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough.
He was born in Portland, Oct. 8, 1942, the son of James and Mildred Mazzone Yerxa Sr.
Fred attended Portland Schools and then served in the U.S. Navy.
He was employed by Maremont, Saco Tannery, Maiette Construction, Shaw Brothers and Anchor Fencing.
He is preceded in death by two sons, James and Anthony Yerxa.
Survivors include: two sons, Fred and Steven Yerxa; two daughters, Justine Gaudet and Kathy Yerxa; three brothers, James, Larry and Jeff Yerxa; two sisters, Loretta Davis and Terry Bronder and companion Joan Faulkner; a stepsister, Linda Duckworth; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home and Cremation, 365 Main St, Saco. Burial will be Wednesday at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Springvale.
