LYMAN — Leopold E. Beaudoin, 96, of Lyman, died on March 10, 2014 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

He was born in Biddeford on April 29, 1917, the son of Elzear and Marion (Custeau) Beaudoin.

He attended Biddeford schools.

Leopold served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

On June 1, 1940, he married Rose Pinette at St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford. She preceded him in death in 2008; since then, he anticipated faithfully their ultimate reunion.

Leopold worked for 36 years for SLS, Edwards Plant and Maremont Corp., retiring in 1982. In retirement, he worked for 22 years at Hannaford Supermarket. At the store, it was not uncommon to have children seek him out in the aisle where he was working; such was his kindness to children and his ability to engage them.
