I would like to take a moment to publicly endorse Paul Main as the next York County sheriff.
I have known Main both personally and professionally for more than 25 years. He is a man of honor and integrity with strong family values. Main is a former deputy sheriff who worked his way through the ranks from corrections officer to patrol commander. He has worked in every division of the sheriff’s office and has an impecible service record.
I know Main to be a person who genuinely cares about the people of York County and the staff at the sheriff’s office. I cannot say that about the other candidates seeking election.
In almost every conversation I have with Main, the topic of the sheriff’s office working conditions is discussed. There are some serious issues that need to be corrected within the office, and I strongly believe Main is the person who has the moral compass to change the course of direction within the office.
The sheriff’s office is unlike any other law enforcement agency in the State of Maine. The unique difference is the election process. It is the “people’s police.” By that, I mean that we, the people, have the opportunity to vote and elect the person of your choice for the position of sheriff.
I strongly urge you to do your research on all three candidates. The Chauvette family has completed our homework and clearly support Main as the next York County sheriff.
June 10 is the primary election date. Because all three candidates are in the Democratic party, this day will determine who the next York County sheriff will be.
Please get out and vote for Main as your next York County sheriff.
Dave Chauvette, Waterboro
