William “Bill” King is running for York County sheriff. To me, this would be a no-brainer, as he is doing a great job as chief deputy and has more than the qualifications he needs to be elected.

He has worked for the CIA as well as the Drug Enforcement Agency, and has served many years in law enforcement. Although he is more than qualified for the job, he brings many other credentials that make him the perfect candidate.

More important, he really cares about the people of York County and has proven it time after time. He is very concerned with protecting our senior citizens, and has worked with many senior groups and presented many seminars to help make them aware the of the lottery scams that are out there. I have never met anyone more determined and more passionate to make a difference than King. I am amazed on how many stories I have heard from people explaining what he has done for them. He is an advocate for the elderly, as well as an advocate for people affected by violent crimes. He was also honored in the Portland Press Herald in November of 2013 as one of the top 10 “Mainers to be thankful for.”

He is running a clean campaign and is concentrating on what he can bring to the table. He is a positive and upbeat person, unlike some of his opponents. The negativity that is associated with politics turns many people off, but King’s vision for the sheriff’s office and his commitment to work for the citizens is refreshing.

Do you want to make a difference? Then make sure you vote for King for York County sheriff. Stand up and be heard that you are tired of the dirty politics and negativity. Vote for someone who truly cares about our community and will help bring changes that are needed to better the system.

If you are a registered Democrat in York County, please vote on June 10. If not, register and vote and help make Maine a proud place to live.
