There is a short passage by an unknown author that compares life to a journey on a train and reads, in part, “We should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life.”

Those mentioned here have left more than memories; they have left a part of themselves for those in need who use the Saco Food Pantry. They are people and businesses like: Leeward Landing Thrift Store, Ron and Rachel Bolduc, Moody’s Nursery, Saco Valley Auto Care, Alliance Sales and Marketing of Saco, Peoples Choice Credit Union, York County Credit Union, James and Sue Marcotte, Trinity Episcopal Church, Cornerstone Methodist Church, United and Bible Baptist churches, First Parish and North Saco Congregational churches, Most Holy Trinity and St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox, Shaw’s Saco, Curves of Saco and its members, Saco Hannaford, Fernleaf Bakery, Steve Gay Septic Tank Services, Frank Galos Chevrolet-Cadillac, Jo-Ann and Daniel Dearborn, Peter and Leona Compagna, Dr. Ronald and Joyce Bissell, Ann Marie Kenney, Mary Antonowicz, Donald and Patricia Sandos, Anthony Russo, Marc and Annette Cardullo, Rita Shaw, Mary Rachel Bernier, Lucille Reed, Joe and Doris Buonomo, Richard and Veronica Sheehan, Jean Rachel Lamb, Priscilla Lamb, Germaine Dumas, Sue Hillman and Bev Haid, Grace Lashua, Ron and Patti Harwood, Saco Book Discussion Group, Sylvia Searle, Anne King, Dorothy Jarry, Mildred Harvey, James Audiffred, Haley’s Metal Shop, Al and Bernadette Coulombe, Marian Orr, Andre and Joan Poisson, Sue Beaulieu, Ann Cox, Vacationland Bowling Center, Martha Taylor, LePage Bakery, Sure Winner Foods, our anonymous friends and this newspaper.

As we take a moment to honor Ms. Theresa Lizotte, the volunteers and clients who knew her with bowed heads pause to remember volunteer Claire B. Paul and wish her God speed. I close by paraphrasing from the opening: On behalf of both the volunteers and clients of the Saco Food Pantry, I wish all a joyful journey during the years remaining and thank you for being one of the supportive passengers on our train of life.

God Bless.

Bob Nichols,

Saco
