SANFORD — Dorothea “Dot” Morin, 87, of Sanford, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Southern Maine Health Care in Sanford.
She was born in East Providence on July 2, 1926, a daughter of the late Selah and Wilhemina Ballou.
Dot enjoyed chaperoning Sanford High School students on European student trips. She also was a long-term Sanford Emblem Club member, where she held many offices, including president. She also took the lead of the local scholarship fund.
Dot retired in 1991 from Sprague Electric after many years of service with the company.
Dot was the loving mother of her sons, Selah and Warren; daughter, Robin; stepson, Roland; and stepdaughter, Margaret.
She is also survived by: her sister, Gail; and was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Dot will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale. Visiting hours will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com.
