If we are looking for new, energetic, innovative and resourceful legislators for our state, we need to support Patty Hymanson, democratic candidate for the House.

I have known Patty for more than 10 years. She is extremely bright, articulate and well-versed in the health care and education issues facing us today. She is a retired neurologist who ran a private practice for 26 years, overseeing several employees, and so, is acutely aware of the needs and concerns of small businesses.

Patty served six years on the local school committee ”“ three as chair ”“ and has volunteered her time and expertise to help meet community needs. She took it upon herself to address the Legislature about the use of generic medications, which were not effective in treating certain neurological patients. She believes, as I do, that health care should be accessible to all, through a single-payer system, and not beholden to the insurance companies.

Patty Hymanson is a woman of integrity and caring, who believes, again, as I do, that Maine can do better.
