SANFORD — Christopher M. Doucet, 49, of Sanford, died on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014 in Sanford.

Chris-topher was born in Albuquer-que, New Mexico on Jan. 27, 1965, to Richard and Eleanor (Verow) Doucet.

He grew up in Brewer, where he attended local schools, graduating from Brewer High School in 1983.

In 1989, he married Dawn Fournier, and together they raised two daughters and shared 25 years of marriage.

He had been employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for the past 27 years.

Christopher was a loving and devoted husband and father, and loved spending time with his family, especially when he could make his girls laugh. He was always a very hard worker and took great pride in providing for his family. He enjoyed fishing and liked working around his home. He was always very particular about making sure everything looked nice.

Christopher will be remembered as a kind, loving and generous man, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are: his wife, Dawn Doucet of Sanford; two daughters, JoAnn L. Doucet and Julia D. Doucet, both of Sanford; his parents, Richard and Eleanor Doucet Sr. of Waterboro; two siblings, Richard W. Doucet Jr. of Brewer and Kathy Ann Legere and her husband Jim of Georgetown, Colorado; and a niece, several nephews and other extended family members.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10 at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, located at 580 Main St. in Springvale. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to pay it forward by performing a good deed or helping a person in need.
