SANFORD — Aurore E. Normand, 86, a lifelong resident of Sanford, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014 at the Newton Center in Sanford, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born in Sanford on Aug. 7, 1928, a daughter of the late Auguste and Ernestine (Demers) Doiron.
She was previously employed at Kesslen Shoe and Sebago Moc for 34 years. Family and home was the center of her life.
A lifelong communicant of Holy Family Parish, she was a Eucharistic minister, involved with the RCIA program and attended daily Mass until her health declined.
She was preceded in death by: her first husband, Paul Guerin, who passed away in 1972; her second husband, Rosaire Normand, who passed away in 2002; eight brothers; two sisters; and one grandchild.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Guerin and his wife Lucille of Biddeford, Roger Guerin and Jacqueline Guerin, both of Sanford; stepchildren, Robert Normand and his wife Suchin of California, Richard Normand of Sanford, Paul Normand and his wife Linda of Alfred, Alice Lambert and her husband Thomas of Bangor, Annette Faraone and her husband Joseph of Herndon, Virginia, Philip Normand and his wife Laurie of Orono; sisters, Yvette Cormier of Dieppe, New Brunswick, Canada, Jeanne D’Arc Doiron of Sanford and Lucille Perron of Alfred; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Thérèse of Lisieux, Holy Family Church in Sanford. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.
