Kudos are in order to the Journal Tribune for having printed the article on LD 1750: regarding special interests.
It reminds me of the attempt to prevent the tower of death (cell tower) from being built right next to schools and a neighborhood in contravention to the zoning regulations. One might have thought that the signatures of more than 2,000 Biddeford residents would be an indicator to their “public servants”. The wind turbines are, likewise, a Not In My Back Yard item.
Long ago the phrase “money is the mother’s milk of politics” was related to me. This indicates the basic difference between a public servant and a politician. One of them serves those who elected him/her, the other serves his/her own and other’s special interests for the proverbial 30 pieces of silver. I will not tell you which is which.
It is indeed unfortunate that those who pull the strings of our political puppets are the very the ones that Jesus Christ drove out of the temple with a whip.
For those who have an interest in the power brokers behind the stage, I recommend the book “Barbarians Inside the Gates: The Black Book of Bolshevism” by Col. Donn deGrand Pre. It will severely revise your perception of the political history of the 20th century. The bibliography alone is worth the price of the book.
