Some tickets are still available for the ‘Downeast Meets Dixie’ dinner gala event at the Seashore Trolley Museum from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18 in Kennebunkport. SUBMITTED PHOTO
“An evening of food, drink, music and merriment goes over the top on the fun scale when it includes riding, imbibing, and celebrating in beautiful antique trolleys” said museum Executive Director Sally Bates. “Our trolleys are the best props in the world for creating an authentic atmosphere of other times and places.”
Downeast Meets Dixie guests will lounge, ride, and imbibe in vintage trolleys from New England and Southern cities.
The band Gumption Junction will perform Sea Shanties and Bluegrass. A Tap Snap photo booth will ensure that everyone leaves with great photos.
A cash bar will feature two signature cocktails including “the Downeast” and “the Dixie.”
A full dinner of New England and Southern favorites will include chowder, barbecue, sides, salads and desserts, catered by the Chef & the Gardener.
Costumes are encouraged — and there will be a costume parade. (Think sea captains, mates, wenches, fishermen, or maybe a country casual look.)
The raffle table will include gift certificates, fine crafts, Amtrak tickets, and more.
A limited number of tickets will be sold, and they must be reserved in advance. Dinner is included in the ticket price of $55 per person.
