BIDDEFORD — Gerard R. “Jerry” Bolduc, Born June 22, 1931 in Biddeford, died while in hospice care May 30, 2015 in Mission Viejo, California.
He was a devoted husband and father, son of the late Louis P. Bolduc and Irene (Alarie) Bolduc.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, and retired in 1988 after four decades working in grocery store management with First National in Maine, and Ralph’s Grocery in California.
In retirement, he remained active by serving on the board at Palmia, the community in which he and his wife have lived for 24 years. He was also an accomplished volunteer for Meals on Wheels, took on an active leadership role for the Senior Center, and organized and coached his own softball team, which included residents of Palmia.
He is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Patricia A. (Cartier) Bolduc; daughter, Judy E. Bolduc of Mission Viejo, California; daughter, Joan T. Bolduc and spouse Marie Kelzer of Marina Del Rey, California; Mary Jane P. Bennett and spouse James Bennett of Maui, Hawaii; John G. Bolduc of San Francisco, California; four grandsons, Joshua Michel of Woodinville, Washington, Daniel Michel of Kirkland, Washington, James Bennett Jr. of Portland, Oregon, and Logan Bennett of Maui, Hawaii; two great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Paige Michel of Woodinville, Washington; and siblings, Mike Bolduc, Madeleine Bolduc, and Dennis Bolduc, all of Biddeford.
He is preceded in death by: his brother, Louis P. Bolduc Jr. of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. and survived by his siblings Mike Bolduc, Madeleine Bolduc, and Dennis Bolduc, all of Biddeford.
He had a passion for sports all his life, with golf, tennis and baseball being his favorites, often teaching and sharing this passion with his children and grandchildren. He possessed a terrific sense of humor and often lit up a room with his infectious wit and ability to put people at ease.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
