BIDDEFORD — Alice Fecteau quietly passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the age of 104 in St. Andre’s Healthcare in Biddeford.

Alice was born in Biddeford on Sept. 18, 1910, a daughter of Edouard Frechette and Amanda Provost Frechette.

Alice enjoyed playing the piano. After elementary school graduation, she was given the opportunity to advance her piano studies in Canada by teaching piano in exchange for studies with the nuns.

At the age of 25 she married Conrad Fecteau, also of Biddeford.

Her life was that of a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and tailored some of her and children’s clothes. In later life, she developed a passion for duplicate bridge, achieving Life Master in duplicate bridge.

She was secretary for her husband’s insurance and real estate business.

In the ”˜50s, they purchased a cottage in Old Orchard Beach and rented eight rooms during the summer months. Evenings were frequently spent playing bridge with their guests.

Alice was a parishioner of the former Notre Dame de Lourdes church.

Alice is preceded in death by: her siblings, Beatrice Janel, Amanda Beaudoin, and Edouard Frechette; and her husband, Conrad.

Alice is survived by: her three children, Rudy, Richard, and Claire (Boissonneault); her grandchildren, Mark, Michelle (Wilson), Andre, Robert Boissonneault, and Nicole Boissonneault (Bates).

She is also survived by: seven great-grandchildren, Christen Fecteau, Cathryn Wilson (Lashley), Aaren Fecteau, Jeff Fecteau, Sarah Wilson, Nicolas Boissonneault, Ryan Bates, and Rene Bates; and also several nephews and nieces.

Visiting hours will be held 5-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28 at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco.

A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 at St. Anne’s Chapel in Biddeford. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
