BIDDEFORD POOL — French portrait artist Anne-François de Sérilly will present his most recent body of work called “Tryst on the Beach“ at the Biddeford Pool Community Center from Aug. 19 to Sept. 3, his first such exhibit ever in the United States.
Participants can expect waves and windjammers similar to Maine tradition, however, Sérilly’s sensual figures add a playful aspect best described as a French touch. Here de Sérilly has created a world of stolen moments, magicians and games.
Highly sought after in Paris for his portraits, Sérilly’s signature can be seen on family portraits in the homes of French aristocrats including the Duke of Uzes and the Duke of Vendôme, Count Louis de Causans Grimaldi.
The Biddeford Pool Community Center is at 2 Yates St. in Biddeford Pool and viewing hours for the exhibit are 10 a.m. to noon Mondays through Thursdays and on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There will be a reception to meet the artist from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1 and the public is invited.
