BOSTON — Police say a 72-year-old man forced several people out of a sport utility vehicle and drove off before crashing into several vehicles in Boston.
Massachusetts State Police said multiple 911 callers reported the carjacking on the Bowker Overpass over Storrow Drive shortly before 5 p.m. Friday.
Officials said the Hyannis man drove the wrong way and struck numerous other vehicles before the SUV crashed and rolled over.
No serious injuries were reported.
Officials said responding troopers restrained the man, who was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation. His name has not been released.
State police are determining what charges to file against the man.
