ALFRED — The misdemeanor driving-to-endanger charge against a Shapleigh volunteer firefighter will be dismissed after a year as long as she isn’t accused of any criminal conduct in the meantime.
Natasha Kinney, 31, was involved in an accident in August 2010 as she was leaving the scene of a fire.
She lost control of a tanker-pumper as she rounded a bend on Newfield Road. The truck rolled and came to rest upside-down. It narrowly missed four motorcyclists who credited their own safety training and Kinney’s attempts to maintain control of the firetruck with saving their lives.
Maine State Police issued Kinney a citation in connection with the accident in October 2010.
The firetruck was destroyed in the crash. Kinney said she was bedridden for a month and suffered injuries including one that required 27 stitches to her left arm.
Kinney’s lawyer and the prosecutor reached the agreement on her case this morning.
