SOUTH PORTLAND – Sanford will take on top-ranked Scarborough in the Class A West softball finals after beating South Portland 5-1 on Saturday.
The third-ranked Spartans (13-5) scored four unearned runs against Riot pitcher Erin Bogdanovich to beat No. 2 South Portland. It was the Spartans’ eighth-straight win for coach Kristi Cochin.
The Riots end the season 15-3.
