Key newcomers: Ken Mancuso, Jr., 140; Glen Googins, Fr., 135

Coach’s outlook: “The Red Storm are coming off a year where they finished the season with only six wrestlers and changed head coaches for the third time in three years. This year however the team began the season with 20 wrestlers and a very energetic new coach. Though many are inexperienced and/or young, there is a good core of dedicated talent that will really surprise people around the state. Top returnee Tony Sciarra, in his bid to become the first state champion at Scarborough, won his respective weight class at the Westlake Invitational along with top newcomer Ken Mancuso. Amber Fernandez also placed 4th and is looking to drop to 112 in early January. Brandon Carrol, who narrowly missed out on qualifying for states last year, plans to return to the mat in late December. The rest of the team is stockpiled with young talent that has embraced the hard working attitude of their teammates and has an excellent chance of making a name for themselves before the end of the season.”
