After remaining vacant for a little less than a year the former Community Pharmacy store in Oak Hill store has a new tenant – Family Dollar.
The North Carolina-based company is opening its first store in Scarborough on July 14. The company has a total of 5600 stores in 44 states. The Scarborough store will be its 34th in Maine.
The store will be about 6,400 square feet, which is a bit smaller than most of the company’s stores, which measure 7,000 to 8,000 square feet, according to spokesman Florence Stanley.
The store will carry an assortment of items including household products house wares, and food. The Scarborough store is hosting a job fair on July 1. A typical Family Dollar store employs seven to eight full- and part-time workers, Stanley said.
