Greg Norton, a senior from South Portland, is a pitcher for the University of Maine Black Bears baseball team. So far the team is off to a rough start with a 4-11 record. Norton has appeared in four games and compiled a record of 1-2 with eight strikeouts.

Sean Costigan, a freshman from South Portland, spent the winter as part of the Black Bears basketball team. The squad finished their season with a 12-18 record.

Alex Weaver, a senior from Cape Elizabeth, has two goals so far this spring for the Bowdoin College lacrosse team. The Polar Bears are off to a 2-1 start.

Fellow Caper Bryan Holden is a sophomore at Bowdoin. He is also on the lacrosse team and he has contributed one goal in the early going.

Scott Caras, a junior as Bowdoin, is from Cape Elizabeth as well. He is also a part of the men’s lacrosse team. Caras will be called upon to be a face-off specialist for the Polar Bears.

Amanda Allen is a sophomore at Bowdoin College. She is on the women’s lacrosse team this spring. The team is off to a 3-1 start after a successful trip to Florida.

Molly Rice, a senior at Colby College, was a captain of the basketball team. Rice is from South Portland. This season she scored 30 points, had 23 rebounds and four assists. Her team finished 6-17.

Carly Rapaport, a freshman from Cape Elizabeth, is on the Colby women’s lacrosse team. The team is off to an 0-1 start.

Andrew Wood, a junior from South Portland, is on the baseball team at St. Joseph’s College. The team is at 7-0 and Wood is hitting .577 with 13 RBIs.

Pat Mileski, a senior at St. Joe’s, is from Cape Elizabeth. Mileski was a forward and center for the men’s basketball team. He had 116 points, 125 rebounds and 19 assists for the Monks who went 22-8.

Carolyn Freeman, a freshman from Scarborough, was a guard for the women’s basketball team at St. Joseph’s. The women’s team finished their season with a record of 11-15.
