Gorham Fire Chief Robert Lefebvre said a Sept. 5 fire caused $20,000 to $25,000 in damage to a home at 106 Sebago Lake Road in Gorham.

Lefebvre said a cigarette accidentally discarded caused the fire. He described the damage as “pretty bad” and he said the fire left the home unlivable.

Gorham Police Officer Wayne Coffin reported the fire at 11 a.m. No one was home at the time. The single-story home is owned by Ronald Hopkins, Lefebvre said.

Windham firefighters assisted Gorham. Firefighters were at the scene for two hours.
