Jennifer Moutinho, center, helps out at the University of Southern Maine’s Applied Science, Engineering and Technology camp on the Gorham campus last week, where middle school students learned about machines and gears and designed Rube Goldberg-style gizmos. Moutinho will be a senior at Gorham High School this fall, and has been involved in First Robotics – a technology program for high school students with regional competitions – for two years, where she met one of the summer camp’s instuctors, John Kraljic. Kraljic invited Moutinho to be a counselor at the camp this summer. Organizers said the camp was at capacity and a great success.
