Spring has arrived and with it thoughts, labor and expense are dedicated to preparing our gardens. Living here in the Lakes Region we must be ever mindful of the effect our efforts have on sensitive shoreline areas. Pat Blake, resident Master Gardener, will present a talk on Organic Gardening at the Naples Public Library, Wednesday, June 15 at 7 p.m.
Formerly with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, Blake now does consultations, installations and speaking engagements on a wide variety of gardening and herbal topics.
Blake emphasizes ecology and conservation techniques using indigenous plants and local products. She is a delightful speaker with an infectious passion for her craft. The public is invited for what is sure to be an informative, enjoyable evening. The event is free and light refreshments will be served. Please call the library at 693-6841 or stop in during regular hours to register.
