Those wishing to attend the meeting or obtain more information should call Carol Quint, 2nd vice president, at 854-8825.

During the business meeting on Oct. 18, Marcia Willock, a member of the club’s Legislation Committee, introduced Dorothy Samuelson, who spoke briefly about the importance of understanding the facts about ballot question 1(people’s veto) before going to the polls on Nov. 8. She also provided informative written materials, Quint said.

After the meeting, members filled 35 “sunshine bags” for the Crisis Center. The colorful fabric bags were sewn by Evelyn Meserve, club president, and each was filled with a variety of toiletry items donated by members.

Club members will take two-hour shifts to ring the bells all day for the Salvation Army on Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 8 and 9, at the Maine Mall. Quint said that it’s been an annual activity of the Westbrook Woman’s Club and is only one way they demonstrate that “GFWC/MFWC volunteers give from the heart.”

Quint reminded members that Wednesday, Nov. 9, is the last day to place orders for the “delicious” lobster roll box lunch that will be available for pickup on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church.

The annual project raises money for scholarships that the club gives each year to Westbrook High School students. To place an order, call Patricia Currier at 883-7933 or Georgia Therio at 797-9152.
