St. Anne’s resumes Sunday school
The fall start for Sunday school classes for four-year-olds through grade 5 will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9, St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 299 Main St.
Sister Jackie Moreau, parish Catechetical leader, said coffee and doughnuts will be served after the 8 a.m. Mass each week also starting Sept. 9. She said the first gathering is for both parents and children.
Middle school parents and teens will meet at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23, in the church to hear about this year’s programs.
Registration packets have been mailed. Those who need materials should call the church 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays at 839-4857.
Gorham Recreation offers Celt tickets
The Gorham Recreation Department is planning a trip to Boston to see the Celtics play the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, Nov. 21.
Alan Grady, special events director at Gorham Recreation Department, said the bus will leave the Gorham Municipal Center at 3 p.m. and return around midnight. The bus will arrive in Boston about 5:30 p.m., allowing time to get dinner before the game with a 7:30 p.m. tip off.
Grady said the trip will be an opportunity to see new Celtic players Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen.
The cost, which includes transportation and game ticket, is $45 per person. Grady said anyone under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Payment is due in full at Gorham Recreation Department on Friday, Oct. 19.

Sappi golf tournament Saturday
The annual Sappi golf tournament will be Saturday, Sept. 8, at Gorham Country Club.

Woman’s club reminder
The GFWC/Gorham Woman’s Club will meet at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13, at the First Parish Congregational Church.
