SCARBOROUGH – On Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1-3 p.m. the Maine Medical Center Cancer Institute in Scarborough will hold an information session for anyone interested in volunteering for the American Cancer Society’s local Road to Recovery program.

Volunteer drivers are needed in Cumberland County to take cancer patients to and from treatment sessions and to doctor’s appointments.

“Driving cancer patients to treatment is a very rewarding volunteer experience and it is also flexible,” said Bud Stiker, a volunteer Road to Recovery driver since 2011. “You’re not tied down to a set schedule, and I’ve met so many wonderful people.”

Contact Elisa Madore at 462-6307 or Elisa.Madore@cancer.org for more information about the program or to register for a training session.
