Let the games begin.
After what seems like an endless winter, it’s finally time for some warmer weather and the start of the local spring sports season.
On the diamond, the Cape Elizabeth Capers got an early start to the baseball and softball seasons, with both teams posting wins over Falmouth. South Portland and Scarborough are slated to begin their seasons this weekend, with the Storm baseball team facing off against Gorham on the road on April 25 and the softball team traveling to Bonny Eagle on April 24. The Riots will open baseball season on April 25 as well, taking on Portland with the Riots’ softball team also opening against the Bulldogs on the same day.
