Each Wednesday dreams come alive as Deertrees Theatre presents programs especially designed for the younger set – real time interactive theatre with some of America’s finest performers in the idyllic setting of Maine’s most enchanting theatre.

The Children’s Wednesday Series starts on July 5 with Deertrees’ favorite, Rick Charette. Blending contemporary pop music with original lyrics, America’s most delightful and inspiring children’s musician captures the heart and spirit with his songs and imaginative fun-filled audience activities.

On Wednesday, July 12, Jackson Gillman, “the Standup Chameleon” takes the stage at Deertrees. Songs, dance, and mime are incorporated into an interactive performance that takes audiences of all ages for a rollicking ride into a wild imaginative world of creative adventure.

The University of New Hampshire’s renowned Little Red Wagon presents two exciting shows on Wednesday, July 19. At 10 a.m. an exciting tale of pirates as Jim Hawkins searches for buried treasure in “Treasure Island.”

Young people, grades 4 and up are sure to be captivated with this comical adventure on the high seas. And for pre-kindergarten through fourth grade kids, the Little Red Wagon cast and a talking Monday lead everyone on a three-masted sailing ship in search for pirate’s gold in “Arrgh, It’s a Pirates Life for Me.”

Performances start on time – 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. – last about one hour, and, following the show, there is the opportunity for everybody to meet the performers in the Salt Lick CafA?©. Tickets are $4 for children and $5 for adults and are available through the theatre’s Box Office at 583-6747, in Bridgton at the Cool Moose, the Country Sleigh in Naples, the Fare Share Co-op in Norway, and Books & Things in Bethel.
