A Westbrook firefighter believed freezing winter temperatures caused flooding reported about 10 a.m. Sunday at 100 Bridge St.

Capt. Sam Webster believed a valve had frozen in a first-floor bathroom. Webster said the basement appeared to be half filled with water.

He said there was no power in the vacant house that he thought was being re-modeled. The house is located near the Dana Mill.

Water that appeared to have run from the house was freezing in an adjacent parking lot. Westbrook Police officer Tom Haskell also responded to the scene.
