Possible burglary

Someone at the Harmon & Barton florist on Brown Street told police on Feb. 24 that a window was broken and an entry attempted. They didn’t know if the entry was made or anything was taken.

Stolen identity

A Bridge Street woman reported on Feb. 25 that someone had been using her social security number.

Shoplifter on the run

A Kohl’s security officer had to call police on Feb. 25 for assistance with a female shoplifter who had run over to Dunkin’ Donuts and hid in the women’s bathroom. She eventually left the bathroom and fled up towards Rowe Ford.

Unholy theft

A Prince Street woman told police on Feb. 26 that her pocketbook was stolen the night before while at St. Mary’s Church on Main Street.

Fight in parking lot

Police were informed on Feb. 28 of a fight between a man and woman in the parking lot on Mechanic Street behind the Martini Lane liquor store.

Beagle attacked

A Brown Street man told police on March 1 that his beagle was attacked by three pit bulls that were off the leash and in the street. The beagle was injured and needed surgery.

Cat hit by car

On March 2, a Westbrook man reported a cat was struck by a car on Brown Street and was still alive. The cat was taken to the Animal Refuge League.

Rifling through garbage

On Central Street, a male wearing a blue and black jacket was seen walking up and down the street going through garbage and wandering into yards on March 2.
