“Auto Ice-Racing Under the Lights”

Friday night, Feb. 24, drivers will compete for a $2,000 prize purse on a plowed quarter-mile Sebago ice track at Point Sebago Resort.

Like last year, the race will divided into two classes: cars with street-legal studs and cars with modified screw tires. A car may actually be entered in both as long as the tires are changed.

The street stud class will be a 20 to 30 minute race (depending on ice conditions) with no plans for qualifying heats – Start order of the race will be draw of the hat. The screw tire class will have 10-minute qualifying heats with 10 to 12 cars per heat. Start position will again be determined by a draw of the hat. The number of qualifying heats will depend on the actual number of entries.

The Screw Tire Championship Race will be a culmination race of 20 to 30 minutes in length depending on ice conditions. Screw Tire qualifying heats will determine racers and racers start position.
