Free car wash
The North Congregational Church is sponsoring a free car wash from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, at 22 Church Lane, Buxton.
Cars will be washed and vacuumed free at the church’s “Appreciation Day for the Community.”
Hot dogs, soda and desserts will be on sale.
Soccer sign up
The registration deadline for youth soccer, kindergarten through grade 9, is Saturday, Aug. 25.
The program is sponsored by the Buxton Recreation Department. Practices will be held at Town Farm Field and games will be played in Buxton, Hollis and Limington. The cost is $45 per child.
Volunteers are needed for staff, coaching and refereeing.
