Newly inducted Eagle Scouts from Windham Troop 805 include, from left, Nathan Gardner, Gerard Parent and Mason Plummer. Only 1 in 200 boys who enter Boy Scouts becomes an Eagle Scout. Gardner, Parent and Plummer have been in Troop 805 since their early days in Cub Scouts. Numerous activities through the years have included Pinewood Derby model car racing, camping trips, sailing in the Florida Keys from Boy Scout Sea Base and community projects. As part of the Eagle requirement, each Scout planned and led a service project in Windham. Fellow Scouts and their families participated in these ambitious projects as well. Gardner built an information kiosk at Chaffin Pond. Parent installed trees, shrubs and landscaping at the Windham Veterans Center. Plummer built footbridges at Otterbrook Wildlife Sanctuary.
