Scarborough Boy Scout Troop 39 participates in two fundraisers annually in order to replenish the troop funds and offset portions of scout dues, summer camp or other scout activities.
A massive yard sale fundraiser will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Scout Barn, which is located on Route 114 just behind Sam’s Club near the Scarborough Lions Club.
Scarborough Troop 39 was founded in 1931 by Henry Milliken and in 1967 the Scarborough Lions became its charter organization. The troop has provided boys with the opportunity to develop friendships, learn new skills and build confidence within themselves to become outstanding citizens within the community. Those interested in learning more about Troop 39, can contact Scoutmaster Doug Friedman at 776-0457 or by e-mail rafterinmaine@yahoo.com.
