I think that the residents of Freeport are figuring that the RSU of Pownal, Durham and Freeport was not a good match. Ever since it was created, Pownal and Durham have had a hard time agreeing with the figures that we have been getting from the RSU. We have no industry to help with our taxes, not only for the RSU, but for the rest of the things we need to pay taxes for.
Some of us have a hard time accepting the fact that the RSU committee has six members from Freeport and only three from Durham and two from Pownal. We have lost right out of the gate. Freeport can vote whatever they want, just by the number of voters they can muster.
This marriage has not gone well from the start, and I would hope that Freeport would withdraw, and let Pownal and Durham go their separate ways.
