Busy Times

The Fourth of July is behind us, believe it or not! To me, that’s when it really feels like summer, although it was chilly while waiting for the fireworks on the Fourth. Chilly in July? The next day was gorgeous, so really not complaining, just commenting. I will say that I think this might have been the biggest crowd I’ve ever seen here in Naples for the holiday weekend. You could not get a parking spot at the Umbrella Factory/Rite Aid plaza, and the lines in The Umbrella Factory were from the register to the freezers in the back of the store! Again, not complaining, just reporting, and happily so. It’s nice to see Naples come alive for our short summer season.

Sunday Summer Concerts

A lovely tradition is the Summer Night Concert series at the Naples Village Green. Organizers are particularly excited about the band lined up for this week. Jimmy Jo and the Jumbo L’ayans are billed as a “Fantastic Cajun Band.” They make their debut on the Village Green Sunday, July 12, at 6 p.m. On July 19 head to the Green to see Lola Lee sing country music. The shows continue until Aug. 30. Check here for updates on who is playing.

Breakfast and Yoga

Yoga makes me hungry! If you are like me, you are in for a treat. Sandy’s Flight Deck Restaurant in Naples on the Causeway will be offering yoga on Monday mornings at 7 a.m. starting Monday, July 13. Ali Peters, a yoga instructor at Fountain of You Fitness in Naples, will lead participants through an energetic flow yoga, guaranteed to get your blood pumping. Immediately following, Sandy’s will offer healthy breakfast options including green smoothies and more. Classes will be held on the front porch of the restaurant, drop in fee just $10. Ali will have some mats, but if you have your own you are encouraged to bring it.
