Student of ?the month

Congratulations to Jordan-Small Middle School sixth-grader Cameron Landry for being named Student of the Month. Cam was recognized for being someone that never gives up, hard working and always ready to learn new concepts. He rolls up his sleeves even when work is super challenging. When others need help, Cam is there. If a peer needs someone to speak up and do the right thing, it’s Cam’s voice that is heard. Because of these moments, the sixth-grade teaching team is proud of Cam and excited to honor him as student of the month. Congratulations.

Reflections program

The Windham PTA will be sponsoring the Reflections Program for grades K-12 in Regional School Unit 14. The program offers students the opportunity to earn local, state and even national recognition for original artwork they create in response to a specific theme. This year’s theme is “Let your imagination fly!”

There are three categories to choose from: Literacy, visual arts and photography. Students who participate in the Reflections program get an opportunity to explore arts and culture, develop creative thinking and problem-solving skills while recognizing themselves as talented artists.

Families are encouraged to support their children by creating time and space for students to work on their entries as well as providing encouragement and needed materials. The PTA will be offering a literacy workshop on Saturday, Nov. 7, during Family Literacy Fun Day, being held at the Primary School 10 a.m.-1 p.m. There we will provide space for children to get started on an original writing piece to submit in the literacy category. They will also provide some materials. Students and parents are welcome to join. The deadline for entry submissions is Friday, Dec. 18. Students may turn in their entry to their teacher. If any families need a hard copy of the entry form, and/or submission rules, these will be available at the front office of each school. Please email windhammainepta@gmail.com for any questions you may have regarding this program. The PTA hopes this will be a fun opportunity to empower our students who have that artistic talent.
