Buxton- Hollis Historical Society, 8 River Road (Route 112), Buxton, a non-lending library, offers local historical and genealogical resources.

It’s open 1- 4 p.m. the first Friday and first and third Saturdays monthly through October.

Libby book signing

Local author Jim Libby will sign copies of his book “Buxton’ at the Buxton-Hollis Historical Society table on Buxton Community Day, Saturday, July 25, at Tory Hill, intersection of routes 112 and 202.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the society and Gibeon Bradbury note cards, “Trillium,” also will be introduced.

The historical society’s table will be open 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
