Food Donation

There will be another pet food donation day June 10 at the Kennel Shop in the Shaw’s Plaza. This food goes to the Windham Food Pantry to help people feed their pets. For more information contact Barbara Muir at 892-6096.

Mary Bouchard of Falmouth Road, her sister, Sheila Cunningham, and Sheila’s friend, Richard Rolfe, have returned home after spending a few days at Foxwoods. They all had a great time.

Meeting

The Rebekahs will meet June 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Odd Fellows Hall. The program will feature a drawing the winners of two pillows and an afghan made and donated by Josie Morrell.

Library Display

A beautiful collection of porcelain dolls from young collector Sarah Eastman of Windham will be on display at the Windham Public Library through July 14, 2006. Eastman has exhibited 10 of her dolls, each adorned with beautiful dress and unique style. Two dolls from the “Girls from many lands” series are on display, as well as a doll from Denmark that once belonged to her mother when she was a child. Please stop by the library to see this lovely collection. Call the library for more information or directions (892-1908).

Supper

A public ham and bean supper will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2006 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Windham Hill Church, 140 Windham Center Road. The menu includes: ham and hot dogs, three vareties of baked beans, potato salad, tossed salad, macaroni and cheese, brown bread and biscuits, homemade pies, coffee, tea and punch. The donation is $6 for adults and $2.50 for children 12 and under.

Visits

Betty Barto and her daughter, Sue Hager, of Montgomery Road, recently traveled to Middleton, Rhode Island. They visited Betty’s sister, Gertrude Gourgas, who is ill and also her niece.

Voting

The Primary/municipal election will be June 13 in the Windham High School auxiliary gym. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Town meeting will be held June 17 at 10 a.m. at Windham High School.

Concert

A reminder of the concert to benefit the Don Gordon Scholarship Fund at Windham High School. It will be Sunday, June 4 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Keeley the Katerers on Warren Avenue. There is no entrance donations only. Several well-known musicians will perform.
