Main Street Looking West From Bridge Street
This photo of Main Street shows the old A & P Store that was located at 882 Main Street, at the corner of Fitch Street. This building along with the adjacent buildings were demolished to make way for a more modern building to house the A & P Store and several other businesses.
The A & P Store closed in the early 1970s and Family Dollar Store now occupies the site with Main Street CafA?© occupying the other section of the building.
Also visible in this photo are the old Star Theatre and the three and a half story Odd Fellows Hall which later became the home of American Legion Post #197. Both of these buildings were demolished and the site is now occupied by Martini Lane and Hub Furniture Company.
